Headlines:

The Foster Education Initiative is a joint project of the Education Law Center-PA and Juvenile Law Center, with support from the Annie E. Casey Foundation.

The Initiative works to improve educational opportunities and outcomes for the 23,000 children in care in Pennsylvania by:

Preventing children in care from being bounced from school to school.
Creating and enforcing policies to ensure that children are enrolled immediately in a new school when they do move.
Ensuring that children in foster care who need special education receive the services mandated by law.
Educating biological and foster parents as well as case workers and other professionals about the education and special education rights of children in care.
